What an absolute fantastic concept! his is... it kinda reminds of cookieclicker. or some tower defence kinda style.. can't wait until the game is finished. after playing several hours I found out this:
- Magic should be buffed. it's not that great. only useful in the Meter level
- Milimeter should be 'nerved' or have a better fitting weapon since it's very slow the magic/shrinkray both are not that consistent
- Micrometer with Splitter is broken :D prioritize this first and you have max upgrade within 24 GB's
Also 1 "ball" vs splitter is around 7770 $ since it cuts so much. it's grreat
as a demo. it's great! the "Reset Balls" is very clever also
But..all this things is not to bash the game. it's great I joined the discord and hopefully can playtest more (and add some suggestions)
One of my favorite comments is when people can't put a finger on what genre the game is. That tells me I'm on the right track with pushing design boundaries, so thank you so much!
And no worries, I appreciate the thorough feedback. One way I try to balance is to actually create imbalance and have the player solve for different stages. But you're right that in this version with the 3 stages, eventually most people figure out splitter has to go at the bottom :P
It was a really fun game, though one thing I would like if do decide to release a full version is that the game near the end just becomes a waiting game. I had like 5 towers remaining and had bought all gb upgrades and tower upgrades so there was nothing to do, so the only way to max it out was afk. I left my pc on before sleeping and had to upgrade in the morning. The golden balls after prestige were good though
Edit: Since I haven't seen anyone else get more i guess this is a world record? Yaaay!
Thanks for playing :) Yea for this game jam version the 3rd stage is kinda the final challenge. It's interesting how differently I've seen people play the game in general. Some people just start AFKing right away, playing it like an idle game and less actively. So there's kind of a spectrum of afkness for all players.
Edit: Well Already Finished. Sad That It's a Bit Short. Although, Nice Concept, The Tower Defense Genre Became a Bit Too Monotonous Now a Days, So This Felt Really Nice... Thanks a Lot For Making This Mate... 🔥🔥🔥
Btw, If You Are Planning To Continue To Develop This Then, I Was Thinking Maybe Elemental Towers/Weapon Would Be Nice, Some Balls Can be Resistant To Certain Type Weapons or Towers Can Be Enchanted With Elemental Powers. A Stage With Some Mechanic That has Some Kind of Portals That Teleports Balls, Or Like The 2nd Stage Towers Balls Can Bounce Or Regen Balls Where Splitter Is Best To Use or Shielded Balls Where Magic Weapon Doesn't Do Any Damage. A Boss Ball Stage Where Boss Have Multiple Status That Requires Multiple Type of Towers To Work Together. For Balls Themes Maybe, Like Meteors or Dice. Damn, So Many Things Can be Done Though Sadly I'm Not a Developer... 😭😭
But Damn Bro, You Made a Good Game, For Such a Short Game It Was Fun... 🌹
Thanks for the thorough reply! I did make this game as an avid TD fan, and it's true that a lot of them end up playing very similarly even to this day. I the direction you mentioned of leaning more into the physics with portals and such. I think elemental stuff is helpful for design, but I will only use that as a last resort since that's leaning more towards classic design.
Regardless, the point of this game and all my games is to push game design just a little bit further. So I'm always gonna try some radical stuff even if it doesn't work out.
Ofcourse Mate, I Understand, Those Were Not Really Suggestions More Like What I Was Imagining Playing It, And Thats Obviously Happened Cause As You mentioned Due To The Now-a-Days Classic Designs Already Available In Current TD Games. So, I Along With Other Fans of This Genre Am Looking Forward To Future Development Of This or Your Other Projects Mate, Wish You All The Best. 😊
One small criticism: The splitter seems overpowered compared to the other two weapons. Multiplying balls like it does, I can't imagine ever using it except at the lowest level. Maybe that's intended, and maybe you have plans for more ridiculous weapons, but I figured I'd give my opinion.
Thanks for the feedback! That is definitely true. One design philosophy I like (especially for shorter games) is to have imbalance that shifts around as the player progresses. So like Magic might be better at 1st layer for a while, but then upgrades shift it to 2nd (or whatever). You're right that splitter violates this, but in theory if there were more stages I would continue to make the player keep reevaluating and re-solving the puzzle.
I love this idea, of going down through the sizings
I feel it is more educational than numbers getting unfathomably large
It made me think it would be neet if the progression followed a specific item: like a planet shrinking to an asteroid, shrinking to a rock, shrinking to a pebble, to sand, to dust, to molecule, etc . . .
Haha yea, I honestly can't remember why I chose to do that. It was either a) I changed balancing last minute but forgot to change the text, or b) I thought millimeter sounded cooler.
Fun idle game. It's got some cool gun types, and some nice progression with the levels (though after level 2 it got substantially easier). Do you plan to add music and SFX?
I really like the concept! Looking forward to the mobile version. Took me a bit to figure out which upgrades to use when, I like the idea of different builds having different outputs and that sometimes you just have to start over because you did something wrong.
This game was an over all 8/10 i'd give it a 10/10 if it had a tutorial to show you what to do but im no game dev so thats probably easier said than done but over all very fun & very satisfying took about 45 minutes to an hour to beat and another 30 to screw around but i wasnt paying attention to the time so maybe more time passed idk
I appreciate that, and 618 is a lot :) You're not too off, tutorials aren't technically too hard to do but it can be harder with a time constraint. Thanks for playing :)

Loved it, hope we can get atom size someday! :)
I'm gonna have to do some research to figure out all those subatomic layers..
We need quantum mechanics
we NEED a full version, i can see the infinite gameplay this can offer but for now its kinda short
Thanks so much :)
This is surprisingly fun! great little game :)
Thank you!
Great Game!!
I can't wait for the full version
yup
Thanks for playing.
Great game, the only feedback I could give is that it really feels like the razor HAS to be last, which is sad because I wanna put it first.
Hah yep that is true. It's not toooo strong without buzzsaw, but once you get it it's pretty damn strong.

Sorry .. :) and still going
no need to wait. just spam prestige after you get a few and you feel everything gets (much) slower,

Is There No Way To Play This In Fullscreen ?

Really enjoyable game. Excellent work. :)

I love this game. When full version???
Thanks for playing - I honestly am not sure but I'm definitely pushing myself to release something.
Thank you!

Now that you mention it, yea it's a pretty unexplored theme. Like in movies, the only thing we really see do it is Ant-Man.
hey, i can t save it how do i save it?
I actually don't have saving in this game. It was always a pretty short game so it's more for finishing in 15-30 minutes.
they literally said "There is no save feature in this version, I couldn't get around to it :("
sadly you may not
Also can't wait for full version.
Also the meter is 100 then it goes down to 1 so /100 but it goes to millimetre and not centimetre, just pointing that out.
Haha yea, I honestly can't remember why I chose to do that. It was either a) I changed balancing last minute but forgot to change the text, or b) I thought millimeter sounded cooler.
I did shrink ray for meter magic for millimetre and splitter for micrometer
Great Game cant wait for the full version
Thanks for playing!
Love this concept. The weapons are unique
Thanks a lot :) I've played a ton of TDs and I really wanted to push the genre in a new direction a bit.
are golden balls each 100$
like 1=100
2=200
3=300
or like multiply
1=100
2=200
3=400
It should be the first one. And unfortunately I don't have an estimate on full game release.
they increase in price by 100 so the 1st one is 100 then 200 (total 300) third is 300 (total 600) etc.
when full game?
Sorry, I don't have a good estimate.
i didnt say that as an actual question i just meant this games kinda old now
Ah yes, that is definitely true haha.
for some reason the ball won't spawn on the last level
wait nvm there it is
Fun idle game. It's got some cool gun types, and some nice progression with the levels (though after level 2 it got substantially easier). Do you plan to add music and SFX?
Thanks for playing! For this version no - when I prototype stuff I always leave out sound since I'm usually just testing the core gameplay.
Can't seem to be able to play on android browser. it loads the game yet i can't access the right side of it. is there any way to apk download this?
Nah sorry, this one's not built for phone.
Played it through. Very fun; I ended up going magic on metre, shrink-ray on millimetre and slicer on micrometer.
Nice, that's usually how I go as well, though only late game.
umm, i know really similar game named 'tower balls'. anyway, really fun!!
Thanks for playing :) There are indeed a few games based on this design nowadays.
I really like the concept! Looking forward to the mobile version. Took me a bit to figure out which upgrades to use when, I like the idea of different builds having different outputs and that sometimes you just have to start over because you did something wrong.
Thanks for playing :)
Great game) Quite enjoyable
Thank you!
does anyone know a game similar to this
I tryed it on my phone and it didn't work, it might just be my phone, but either way you mind makeing it playable for mobile...., if it isn't already?
This version indeed isn't built for phone. I've been working on a mobile version but ran into a bunch of snags so it'll be a bit.
How do you play on opera?
I'm new to itch.io
Gotta admit, that's a browser I didn't test it on so I am not sure.
on gx it works well
I would pay money for this :)
Thanks so much!
Shame there's so little content, I enjoyed it while it lasted
Thanks for playing :) Indeed it was originally a gamejam game but I haven't had the content update speed that I wanted.
really good game, I wish it was longer, but I'm having fun trying to optimize for speed
Some of the speedruns people have shown me have definitely blown me away.
put this on speedrun(.)com if you wanna
good game addictif
Thanks for playing!
how do you switch tower
You can only switch towers by resetting your layout with prestige. Once you choose you're locked in for that run.
This game was an over all 8/10 i'd give it a 10/10 if it had a tutorial to show you what to do but im no game dev so thats probably easier said than done but over all very fun & very satisfying took about 45 minutes to an hour to beat and another 30 to screw around but i wasnt paying attention to the time so maybe more time passed idk
before and after screenshots
When i stopped playing i had 618 GB
I appreciate that, and 618 is a lot :) You're not too off, tutorials aren't technically too hard to do but it can be harder with a time constraint. Thanks for playing :)
hey how do you have multiple different towers at once once i choose a tower i cant change to a different on
hey PeachTreeOath please play my incremental game
https://gnogno123-altacc.itch.io/gnognos-epic-incremental-game
Fun but very short
Thanks for playing :)
When will the full version release?
Sorry, no good estimate here. It's been a wild ride.
I love this game, but the scaling is soooooo bad for when I'm trying to 100% it on the actual towers themselves
Thanks for playing! Indeed that's all I have for a true endgame so it's cranked up pretty high.
