Solid game. Short, no endgame. As soon as I had splitter, double damage, and all three stages arranging shrink magic splitter(buzzsaw makes a big difference) to abuse the high magic base damage and explosions and then to make full use of splitter on the third zone you can snowball almost too easily. I suspect as few as 3 shrinks are enough in the first zone, you want to stack as much magic as possible in the second, and a few splitters in the last to get the flow of big money going, especially with extra splits and jackpot.
I'm sitting as able to redeem 350 golden balls as I type this with all 3 stages fully upped, so this is basically where the game ends.
It would be interesting if you could use the same weapon on all 3 areas after "beating the game" if only to see what truly maxed splitter cashflow looks like.
Yea this game was made for a game jam so I didn't have much time to put in an endgame. I'm currently working on a full version and that's something I'm addressing (along with balance).
I like your idea of mix and matching weapons. To me that's the definition of incremental game: feeling a huge growth of power over time. Balance will be crazy but I'd love to see what adjacent ideas I could do there!
As an experiment, I decided to try going from fresh to full board and I hit full prestige upgrades at 9 minutes, max clearspeed at 11-12 minutes, and after around 30 minutes sitting with two nodes left in the first area at 500 golden balls waiting for reset I mercy killed it because as is there isn't really any point going further.
The game really moves fast once you know what to do.
Wow, a game like this that isn't Ad infested? Holy cow, I am surprised and I am proud of it. Keep up the hard work and take your time, this is amazing. I used to find games like this on mobile but this one is much better.
you can start by placing 3 shrink rays vertically in the general middle area, and work to get range; or get it right away! I'd recommend also getting the upgrade that lets the shrink rays target 2 balls at once :D Extremely helpful early game!
Yup that's correct, either a vertical column like that, or make sure you get the range upgrade right off the bat. For those that see this in the future, if you do get stuck, hit the prestige button to reset your formation.
Edit: I figured out how to get an upgrade. One has to click on the dollar amount next to the weapon name to be able to choose one of the A/B/C/D/E upgrades. One per weapon upgrade. Not intuitive to me. Probably due to the lack of adequate tooltip text. I had been under the impression that the weapon upgrades would cost money, like they usually do in other games.
I fail to see how to buy Range right away as it costs more then $25. Hitting prestige before getting at least 1 golden ball is the same as hitting Reset so umm doesnt really help if one gets stuck multiple times.
Oops sorry for the late reply. Yea the upgrade system is pretty unintuitive and certainly different than how TDs work so thanks for pointing it out for other players!
Same! i got a game with like, literally every tower place, all upgrades, and all the golden ball thingies unlocked XD it's got $2.5e7 atm .-. I can prestige for 1079 golden balls .-.
I'd change the golden balls gained to be a % (rounded to the nearest integer) of total money earned. Because currently it makes no sense to wait for the second ball, it's better to prestige constantly at one ball until you're already over-powered.
I'd also make it so the unspent golden balls give you extra damage/money earned. So there's an incentive to continue playing after you've got everything.
And also, the randomness of the Magic weapon feels too unreliable, I'd make it so they prioritize the lowest balls (in position), so that it's more viable.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I did notice various issues with the end game and those are great ideas. I'll definitely be considering them if I do an update.

Thanks, I've been working on updates to the game, though I'm currently taking a short detour for Ludum Dare :)
Its alright take your time, is that another game I should check out? 😄
You can take a peek but I have no guarantees you'll like it because it's a 100% different genre haha

great idea! I bumped you up on the itch.io homepage in the fresh game section!
Thanks so much for your support! Didn't see this comment til recently - got my head down working on updates :)
This is actually one of the best idle games I have played recently! Thanks for this!

Cool game! I played until I maxed it all out :)

Amazing, these type of simple but extremely satisfying games are becoming a trademark of yours.
I love this game
Would love to see this with more depth, the core loop and ideas are already so fun ! Great job !
Thanks a lot, I was surprised at how the game turned out myself and am giving a lot more thought into if/how I'd flesh it out!
Please keep this game up, I love the idea and would love to keep playing it!
Oh man if only I had leaderboards, that's definitely one of the highest I've seen.
This is fucking cool, now that I get how stages work.
I hope to see this further developed.
Great game! I have a few suggestions:
I had so much fun playing it! Good luck

Awesome game! Very Creative. Much like!
The warnings should say addictively fun
One of the most engaging incremental I have played recently. Shame it's so short, I would love to try to optimize the strategy even more!
